This Is The Way We Do Things

Countries and Cultures

understanding other's culture will create a better understanding of self.

It should be understood first, that Africa is the beginning of all civilizations. And, although it has been portrayed in many negative fashions, it has always been the desires of nations to seek out Africa's ingenuity, progress, and resources. Africans, being a loving, kind, trusting people, have fell prey to other nations, using deceptions, and divisional methods (dividing the people. the old "divide and conquer game) to gain control of large areas, and it's resources; Apartheid, being the worst.

South Africa is known for its diversity in cultures, languages, and religious beliefs. Eleven official languages are recognized in the constitution. English is spoken in official and commercial public life, but, it's only the fifth. Others are: Afrikaans, Southern Ndebele, Northern Sotho, Sotho, Swati, Tsonga, Tswana, Vends, Xhosa, Zulu. South Africa, with its diverse people, are called "The Rainbow Nation." And, in recent years, is making up for decades of social disruption and loss. Loss that came as a result of many years of a strong, united people, with a strong government, economy, and well being of its people, being undermined by greed and deceptions by nations seeking only to benefit from Africa's gold, chromium, antimony, coal, iron ore, manganese, nickel, phosphates, tin, uranium, gem diamonds, platinum, copper, vanadium, salt, natural gas, agriculture products: corn, wheat, sugarcane, fruits, vegetables. Countries economies were built on Africa's Resources. The wealth, wisdom, and knowledge derived from Africa are still sustaining nations around the world today. The modern world owes present state of modernity to Africa and its people that now cover the world.

This is a very minute part of how Africa affect the world, past and present. But, why is it important to understand Africa and its people?

Understanding the people of Africa, gives a clear picture of who they are, and what they have, and still are, doing to make your life: richer, healthier, more comfortable, and bringing you into the modern age. You love that modern home with all the modern appliances, and comfort. You love that automobile with all the modern gadgets. You love all the electronics, and the things electronics provides. You love, the modern banking systems, and the money making means to obtain wealth, and daily bread. You love the fresh, healthy fruits, vegetables, and everything that make your life enjoyable. You love the things making you healthy and strong. And, there are many more. But all this came from somebody's mind. Somebody's hard work, and spirit of determination to make it happen. No one should be ignorant of where the things they love, came from. Africa and its people should be brought into the spotlight, instead of being omitted from the educational systems of countries, other than Africa. African people are, kind, loving, sharing, caring, understanding, cooperative, and wants to be friends with the world. They are forgiving, and never seek revenge for negative acts against them. They have shared their wisdom, knowledge; their ingenuity...inventions and accomplishments with the world. Learning and understanding "How we do things in Africa" their culture, is learning how the world is knit together by their culture...a culture that benefit all mankind.

To understand who you are now, and how you got to this modern state; it's imperative that you understand Africa and its people.
