LESSON FOR WEEK (May 4
- May 10)
God Gave
Mankind The Earth
Scripture relating to the lesson
Psalms
115-16
:16 The
heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord's: but the earth hath he given to the
children of men.
When God created man he gave him a great gift--caretaker of the earth. Man is to
care for all the things God created on this earth. Everything man need for good
health--food, water and air, God put here. God put in an unmatchable water
filtration system (wetlands) so mankind would have clean water to drink. The
soil makeup forms a perfect drainage, filtering, and holding system for
nutrients needed by plants. and the air, without contaminates caused by mankind,
is clean and wholesome. The earth was peaceful; everything God created
maintained its relation between everything else in peace and harmony.
This week, take a look at how well, we, the caretakers of the gift God gave us,
are doing.
1. The
wetlands are being drained solely for the purpose of greed.
2. many
rivers are drying up because their tributaries are being destroyed. The rest are
being poisoned by mankind's waste; the byproduct of greed.
3. The
soils are being poisoned by chemicals dumped on it by mankind.
4. The air
is growing in contamination because of greed.
Yes, man has given all this a name; it's call progress, modernity, and change.
Man contaminate the water source, to a point it can't be used without taking out
the contamination. Then he makes a filter to remove some of the contaminates,
declare the water safe, then sell it in bottles, knowing clean water is a must
to sustain life. Progress or greed?
Man destroys God's water filtering system (wetlands) to erect buildings on it.
Progress or greed?
Man kills animal for sport, not for need. Progress? (and the list goes on)
As you go about your week, think about how well mankind is caring for God's
great gift. This earth has natural beauty that is indescribable. It has
everything needed by mankind, if only we would take care of it as God commanded
us to do. And mankind has no excuse, God gave us clear, easily understood
instructions. Plus, he will continually reminds us of what, how, and when to do
things that will maintain His gift to us, if we would only listen.
Man is to
enhance, not destroy--are we doing that?
Thank
you for stopping by; and, being loyal readers. Through the Blessings of Jesus I will see you
next week.
